Centurion Theatre Company was newly formed in 2003, to present London fringe productions of classic plays, but using the same creative team (director Michael Sargent, designer Katy Daniels and technical director Derek Drescher) which has collaborated successfully over a number of years on productions for Xenia Theatre Company (Caesar and Cleopatra, The Haunted House and The Eunuch), for the Starting Gate (The Rivals, Uncle Vanya) and for Focus Opera Group.

 

Productions to date, at the Courtyard Theatre in King’s Cross, have been The Country Wife by William Wycherley (January 2004), As You Like It by William Shakespeare (October 2004) and The Rover by Aphra Behn (March 2005), at the Courtyard’s temporary home in the West End (“the Courtyard at Covent Garden”) Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing (November 2005) and Shaw's Mrs Warren's Profession (November 2006) and at the new Courtyard Theatre in Hoxton, Farquhar's The Beaux' Stratagem (November 2007) and Shakespeare's Measure for Measure (October 2008).
